Seeking a
special community to raise our children, Gini and I chose Kaua`i.
David and Kelly were babies then and Kaua`i has been everything we
hoped for. Now our children are adults and our Grandson Kawika
has added new meaning and joy to our lives.
Living for years on the same
block in Wailua Houselots we were blessed with a safe and loving
neighborhood in a community full of aloha.
With both of us working in
helping professions we are further blessed with opportunities to
meet and work with people from all over the island.
Kaua`i is in a critical time
when we all need to contribute to face the serious challenges that
our successes have brought. We all want to keep Kaua`i a unique and
special place and at the same time provide opportunities for our
children to stay home and prosper. With no simple answers at hand we
need thoughtful, creative and hardworking leadership to accomplish
the task.
I have always believed that
people working together can make good collective decisions and
accomplish great things. The Kamalani projects and the improvements
at Lydgate Park are wonderful examples. Actively working in
partnership with government is a better model than just criticizing
or waiting for government to move. Through my work with individuals,
families and communities, I have found the best practice is to first
listen, then seek agreement, and finally act decisively to get
things done.
Since being elected to Council I have
strived to provide calm, balanced and thoughtful leadership as we deal with the
matters before us. I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve
the people of Kauai and welcome your input on current issues or feedback on my
role as your representative in County government. Don't hesitate to call
me on my cell phone 652-4575 or email me at
tim@timbynum.com. If re-elected, I pledge to work hard with you every
day. I humbly ask for your support and one of your seven votes.
Warmest Aloha,
Tim Bynum
